...are some new bento boxes and other stuff! It is a little bit early, but I plan to celebrate my christmas shift with my collegues who have begun to accept my habit of bringing strange little boxes to work. So I ordered some big jubako to share some food with them on the late shift next thursday (Christmas Eve).
On 25th and 26th I will be working, too but I plan a little hiatus for the blog and the bento-stuff because we will get some treats from the hospital´s kitchen for christmas. I really like my self prepared food, but for christmas I want some nice turkey with good german potato dumplings and red cabbage or some venison...
A few days ago I had a conversation with Lia Chen about snow...now it is here. When I woke up early this morning I first didn´t recognized it, but when the first kids were running outside in their pyjamas and were yelling and tossing snowballs at each other I looked out: Everything was powdered white...
Little impression of the first snow here:
I had to be quick when it was getting light because all of the nice snow was already melting again. Now it is just all grey and mushy :(
I hope christmas will be white...but the forecast says it won´t...
I´m so sorry for not updating recently, but my week was a little stressy because of the stupid quality management thing in the hospital...but there is a recipe as a small treat for the people who pass by every day ;)
This was my bento for yesterday:
Upper tier: Maccaroni with "Zürcher Geschnetzelten" (chicken tenders in delicious sauce), peas and carrots decorated with some cherry tomatoes; some greek style veggies with feta cheese (I´m addicted to feta at the morment)
Lower tier: Banana, Lindt chocolate, grapes, pear dices, kiwi and some parmesan cheese for the macs in the penguin
Second post for today...what attention whore am I?
Yesterday was a little bit like christmas...but even more stressy.
First Hasi and me went to Mazda to get my new car. It looks so awesome with its strange color. And it has around 103hp (Sport Edition with cute spoiler *g*) at an overall weigh of 1,03t which means I look like a racedriver housewife and this is just great ;) Here is the first pic taken by my little paparazzi neighbour:
As mentioned in my previous german entry, I will be be on a test photoshooting for my best friends wedding today. The photographer is my neighbour, who will be coming right from his work to have a ride with me to the location. I assumed that this man will need a proper lunch before starting to shoot, so I rummaged through my kitchen this morming to see what I could be able to whip together in a few minutes (40 min for two bento is good for me):
Today, we have a special day here in germany. Saint Nikolaus is visiting the nice and behaving children and giving them some apples, cookies, nuts and chocolate. But they have to put out their freshly cleaned boots in front of the door the evening before...then they will be magically filled over night ;)
Just compare it to the tooth-fairy mixed with a little christmas spirit.
Actually i wanted to do a chara-ben for today. But then i was too lazy and too afraid to scare my bento-ignorant colleagues so much in the first week ;)
So i had this one:
Upper tier: Sweet casserole like yesterday, grapes, banana slice and Lindt Chocolate heart
Lower tier: Tortellini-veggie-ham-gratin, tofu-nuggets (forgot the dip, doh...) and cherry tomatos
To follow the example of my fellow bento-bloggers, this blog will be in nice ingrish from now on.
Short indroduction for my new readers (just to be optimistic...): I´m a german health care professional and I started making bento to have some weight control and to get rid of some some problems concerning food sensitivity. I started working in the hospital again on tuesday and i try to take a bento with me every day. Days 1+2 are german only but when i have some time i will try to translate the indregents later. Non-food entrys will stay german-only because i still use this blog as my journal, too.
