Monday´s Bento and Recipe

So here is what came out of the kitchen for tomorrow:

Upper tier: "Eine Schüssel" (lit.: "one bowl"; special recipe by my mother in law), veggie-meatballs, cherry tomatoes, grapes
Lower tier: banana, Lindt nougat orbs and capuccino praliné, wafer-apricot-casserole (again...)

And here, for my special readers, who are so nice to read my stuff and even write comments on it:

Recipe:

Greek-Style Rice

200g rice (uncooked amount)
400g ground beef
500g feta cheese (sheep or goat milk cheese; cut into dices)
1 zucchini (diced)
1 red bell pepper (diced)
2 onions (minced)
minced fresh garlic (if you like)
100ml ketchup
200ml beef stock
kebap or gyros spice
sweet pepper powder
ground chilli
salt
grease for your pan

1. Cook rice, Roast onions in some grease until golden brown and add ground beef. and cook even. Add garlic.
2.Cut zucchini and bell pepper and add it to your pan. Let it cook a little (al dente)
3. Add beef stock and let it cook until it is nearly gone. Add spices like you like them and mix the ketchup in.
4. Mix everything with rice and feta in a big ovenproof dish
5. Bake in the oven for 30 min at 200°C

I tried to find out proper substitutes for my oversea reader, but I couldn´t really find anything...feta ripes in brine and I don´t know what you can find in the stores in Indonesia, sorry. Perhaps you can order it somewhere, but it needs to be cooled.

  2. Oh, this is the recipe. Sounds so yummy Amaa, thanks for sharing :D. I think the only "strange" ingredient for me is the feta cheese hehehe, it's kinda hard to find here in my little town. Can it be substituted with another kind of cheese? Thank you...

  3. I think every other cheese is fine for substitute...but the taste is surely very different, because feta has a very unique sour taste
